Thursday's 90 Points Mark A Single Game Season-High For The Purple Knights
Bridgeport, Conn.-Senior Jermaine Washington (Philadelphia, Pa.) led four University of Bridgeport players in double-figure scoring with a game-high 25 points, as the Purple Knights posted a 90-82 home East Coast Conference win over the Dowling College Golden Lions on Thursday night. Thursday's 90 points are a single game season-high for UB so far this season. The win lifts the Purple Knights' overall record to 6-7, and they are now 6-2 in conference play. Dowling falls to 3-10 overall and 3-5 in the ECC.
Joining Washington in double figures for the Purple Knights on Thursday were senior Msoo Ikyatoor (Nigeria, West Africa), who went 7-of-8 from the floor, with 17 points, senior Tim Cokley Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) with 16 points and graduate student Dave Boykin (White Plains, N.Y.) chipped in 13 points. Cokley had a fantastic all-around game on Thursday recording a double-double by grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds, and Tim also contributed six assists and one steal on the night.
Freshman Corwin Austin led five Dowling players in double-digit scoring with 19 points.
Bridgeport is back in action on Saturday afternoon at Mercy College. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
