Brookville, N.Y.-The host LIU Post Pioneers scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to post a 3-2 East Coast Conference win over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Thursday afternoon on Long Island. UB is now 3-20 overall and 0-5 in the ECC. The win lifts the Pioneers to 13-9 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Senior Ben Torres (Hollywood, Fla.) had two hits on the afternoon for Bridgeport including a two-run, first inning home run.
The same two teams will continue their four-game conference series with a single game on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at LIU Post.
