Tampa, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team saw its overall record fall to 1-13 with a 16-2 loss at the University of Tampa on Wednesday night. The host Spartans up their season mark to 16-5 with the win.
Seniors Ben Torres (Hollywood, Fla.) and Jose Negron (New Haven, Conn.) drove in the UB runs, and classmate Daren Grabowski (Berlin, Conn.) continued his Florida hitting streak and scored a run.
After taking Thursday off, the UB baseball team will begin a four-game series in three days on Friday versus Bentley University to wrap up the club's Spring Break trip to Florida. All of those games will take place at Lake Brantley High School.
