St. Leo, Florida-The University of Bridgeport baseball team fell for the second straight day to highly-ranked St. Leo College on Sunday afternoon by an 11-6 score after dropping the series opener 14-2 on Friday night. UB is now 1-10 overall, and St. Leo and St. Leo ups its season mark to 17-2, and the Lions have won 13 in a row.
On Sunday, senior Daren Grabowski (Berlin, Conn.) had a fine day at the plate banging out four hits, including a solo home run, and scoring four of his team's six runs.
Junior Mark Hirschbeck (Trumbull, Conn.) had three hits for UB on the day and also launched a solo homer.
Freshman Logan Allen (Magnolia, Texas) continued his hot start to the 2018 season with two more hits and a run batted.
The Purple Knights also got single runs batted from graduate student Tom Rinaldi (Waterbury, Conn.), senior Ben Torres (Hollywood, Fla.) and sophomore Alex Rauso (Trumbull, Conn.) on Sunday.
The Purple Knights and the Lions will continue their four-game series on Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.
