UB Baseball Falls In 2017 Home Finale To Queens (N.Y.), 8-2
Purple Knights Must Defeat Queens At Least Once In Tomorrow's Road Doubleheader To Earn A Spot In This Season's ECC Championship Tournament
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team lost its 2017 home finale at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Sunday night dropping an 8-2 East Coast Conference decision to the visiting Queens (N.Y.) College Knights. UB is now 17-23 overall this season and 11-12 in conference play. QC moves to 18-21 overall and 10-13 in the ECC.
Sunday night's results sets up big doubleheader at Queens tomorrow afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m., as the Purple Knights need to win at least one of the two games to move onto the 2017 ECC Baseball Championship Tournament as the number three, and the QC Knights will earn a spot in the tournament with a sweep and eliminate UB.
On Sunday, junior Daren Grabowski (Berlin, Conn.) had two hits for Bridgeport, and senior Casey Ouellette (New Canaan, Conn.) and junior Cam Overbaugh (Catskill, N.Y.) each drove in a run for Bridgeport.
