Pomona, N.Y.-Senior Tim Bickford (Wallingford, Conn.), who went 2-for-4 on the day with a double, singled to centerfield with no outs in the top of the ninth inning to score junior Dave Egeland (Toms River, N.J.) who led off the inning with a booming triple to dead centerfield to lift the University of Bridgeport baseball team to a 3-2 road East Coast Conference win over the host St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans on Friday afternoon. With the victory, the Purple Knights reach the .500 mark for the first time in 2015 at 21-21 overall, and UB is now 13-9 in conference play. The same two teams will continue their four-game, weekend ECC series with a doubleheader hosted by Bridgeport at West Haven High School on Saturday afternoon. Action is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
