Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team dropped an 8-5 non-conference decision to the Pace University Setters in a game played at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard on Saturday. UB is now 18-21 overall and Pace ups its season mark to 17-15.
The Purple jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the contest, but Pace rallied to post the win.
Junior Dave Egeland (Tome River, N.J.) went 2-for-4 at the plate for Bridgeport, and sophomore Casey McCone (Milford, Conn.) drove in a pair of runs in the opening inning.
The same two teams will meet again in Bridgeport for a single game at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
