Stonehill Defeats UB Baseball, 9-3

Winter Park, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team took on the Skyhawks of Stonehill College for the fourth straight contest in Florida on Tuesday afternoon, and Stonehill posted a 9-3 win to take three of the games between the two clubs.  UB is now 3-5 overall.  Stonehill ups its record to 7-3.

Junior Mike Perry (East Haven, Conn.) went 3-for-4 at plate on Tuesday and drove in one run.  Classmate Tim Bickford (Wallingford, Conn.) added two hits and one RBI for the Purple Knights.  Freshman Matt Costleigh (West Islip, N.Y.) also had two hits in the loss.

The UB baseball team will now face the University of Tampa Spartans in Tampa on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m.  Tampa is defending NCAA Division II National Champion and currently ranked one in the nation.
