Baseball Falls To East Region's Top-Ranked Team, Wilmington, 6-1
UB Back In Action Tomorrow Night Versus Nyack At Provident Bank Ballpark
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team lost a 6-1 home, non-conference decision against the top-ranked team in the East region, the Wilmington (Del.) University Wildcats on Monday afternoon. Bridgeport is now 18-21 on the season. Wilmington has now won nine games in a row, and the Wildcats are now 36-12 on the year.
UB took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of third inning when freshman Bryan Kondor (Shelton, Conn.) scored junior Jesse Solar (Marlton, N.J.) from third base with a perfect suicide squeeze bunt.
The Wildcats would tie the game with a run in the top of the fourth and then put the game way with four runs in the sixth inning.
Freshman Nick Zieniuk (Margate, N.J.) has two hits on the day for the Purple Knights including a double.
The Bridgeport baseball team is back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Nyack College for a 7:00 p.m. game that will be played at Provident Bank Ballpark.
